John Thomas Bass was the son of Thomas Monroe Bass and Johnnie C Bass. He married Wanetta Vandiver Wigley, daughter of Almarine Vandiver Wigley and Kate Aubry Carroll. He was a sharecropper during the growing season and during the offseason, he worked on the railroads in Arkansas.
The children of John Thomas Bass and Wanetta Vandiver Wigley are still living.

Thomas Monroe Bass, son of Drury S. Bass and Elizabeth Emmaline Mathis, married Johnnie C Bass (a picture of their marriage license), daughter of John Monroe Bass and Elizabeth Jefferson Sloan. He and Johnnie C Bass were ranchers. They made their living breaking horses. Thomas Monroe was thrown from a horse he was breaking and was stomped on by it. It took him several months, but he finally died of internal injuries. Here is a photo of him and a drawing of him.
